As young girls growing up in Naples, Florida, The Twins' life may have seemed picture perfect on the outside looking in. However, a closer look would reveal the reasons why Guerds and Indjina often felt out of place. That disconnection inspired them to create The Jean Twins. Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, The Jean Twins came to the U.S at a young age. Years later, The Twins were then adopted by a loving and supportive family. The Twins were finally becoming accustomed to their new normal when their biological father was murdered, reopening new wounds.

In addition to struggling with Indjina's health complications and Guerds' immigration status, about a decade later, The Twins decided that their story needed to be shared. Because there had to be others who dealt with adoption, losing a parent, immigration issues, and health issues, they created The Jean Twins. The Jean Twins is an online community where no one feels left out and everyone overcomes daily tribulations together.
